Two Heart Disease Prevention Advocates Join The HealthCentral Network
ARLINGTON, VA - The HealthCentral Network, Inc. (www.HealthCentral.com) is excited to announce two new additions to its heart-related sites, www.MyHeartCentral.com and CholesterolNetwork.com. Dr. William Davis, one of the nation's leading authorities on CT heart scans, will contribute articles focused on the early prevention and detection of heart disease. Melanie Thomassian, a registered dietician, will share her expertise on achieving and maintaining a heart healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Davis, the Medical Director of Milwaukee Heart Scan and author of the Heart Scan Blog, will educate and empower community members through twice monthly blogs on the Heart and Cholesterol sites. The sites provide users with in-depth information on treating and managing cardiac conditions, as well as the opportunity to connect with medical experts and fellow heart disease and high cholesterol patients.
"The public discussion of heart disease often focuses on surgery and medication, but there are many incredible tools and strategies for dealing with heart disease that can make those things less necessary," said Dr. Davis. "I'm excited to add my voice to those on MyHeartCentral.com to discuss these and other fascinating topics, all in the name of self-empowerment in health. See you there!"
Melanie Thomassian has worked for the National Health Service in the UK and is currently authoring Dietriffic, a health and diet Blog dedicated to helping others learn new skills, promote healthier lifestyles and share their experiences. Educated at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, Melanie is now living in South Australia where she has focused her attention on advocating heart disease prevention through diet and lifestyle.
"I am very passionate about all aspects of nutrition. Recently this passion has led me into blog writing, which has given me a wonderful opportunity to pass on my nutritional expertise in a different capacity," said Melanie Thomassian. "HealthCentral.com is a great resource for individuals searching for information on heart disease prevention and treatment, and I'm eager to add my voice to their community."
Both authors were awarded HealthCentral.com's Top Site Award, which recognized small websites and individual blogs dedicated to sharing informative content and candid information about a specific condition or disease.
"Dr. Davis and Melanie Thomassian both do excellent work empowering heart disease and high cholesterol patients," said Chris Schroeder, CEO and President of The HealthCentral Network. "The HealthCentral Network strives to provide site users with the tools they need to treat and manage their condition or illness, and Dr. Davis and Melanie Thomassian are invaluable additions to our team."
