HEALTHCENTRAL.COM LAUNCHES GREETING CARD APPLICATION ON FACEBOOK.COM
Arlington, VA - The HealthCentral Network, Inc. (www.HealthCentral.com), a top patient-centric health destination on the Internet, today launches a new way for health seekers to reach out to each other via "get well" cards on Facebook.com. The new application enables any member of Facebook to select from dozens of photos and messages for a range of health conditions - and even design their own - to send to their network of friends and family.
A pioneer in capturing and sharing the experiences and wisdom of patients as part of its health information offerings, HealthCentral's new e-card application puts it at the forefront of encouraging users to share experiences and advice with one another in Facebook's vibrant community.
"HealthCentral.com community members form powerful networks of individuals supporting one another through diagnosis, treatment and management of specific illnesses and conditions," said Chris Schroeder, CEO and President of The HealthCentral Network. "As the pre-eminent social networking site, Facebook.com is an excellent platform for addressing the needs of our younger members and further strengthening the support networks that are so invaluable to them."
The e-card application, "Cards," can be downloaded by any Facebook.com account holder at http://apps.facebook.com/greeting-card/?action=invite, and users may select from an assortment of cards based on promoting good health and advocacy. The cards range from sympathetic to humorous, and users have the option of personalizing cards with their own photos, images and words.
