Leading Sleep Disorder Author and Advocate Joins the Team at The HealthCentral Network's MySleepCentral.com
ARLINGTON, VA - The HealthCentral Network, Inc. (www.HealthCentral.com) today announced that Florence Cardinal, prominent sleep disorder author and advocate, will join the MySleepCentral.com team. Cardinal, who has struggled with her own sleep issues and the sleep disorders of her closest family members, will educate, support, and empower patients through regular articles and blogs on THCN's Sleep Disorder site. MySleepCentral.com provides targeted clinical information and resources, as well as a community of patients, like Cardinal, who share the details of living with a disorder from a personal perspective.
"Through my husband's struggle with sleep apnea, my son's night terrors, and my experience with sleep paralysis, I've recognized the importance of advice and insight from other patients," said Florence Cardinal. "Since losing my husband to a heart attack caused primarily by sleep apnea, I've been dedicated to educating and informing others about sleep disorders - I'm excited to continue as an active part of the MySleepCentral.com community."
"The expert voices on our sites are indispensable because they have first-hand experience and years of dedication to help others manage and take control of their health," said Chris Schroeder, CEO and President of The HealthCentral Network. "Florence Cardinal's personal experience and commitment to Sleep Disorder education and support is a valuable addition to MySleepCentral.com."
A lifelong writer, Cardinal's experience with sleep disorders brought her to About.com, where she was Sleep Disorder columnist and expert for eight years. Through her tenure at About.com, Cardinal gathered a strong following of patients, doctors, and health professionals. She has continued to educate and give valuable advice to people through her blog on the women's health and wellness site, WellWomanBlog.com, and her contribution of sleep disorder articles to AllInfoAbout.com.
Cardinal is also dedicated to staying up-to-date on developments in Sleep Disorders research. She continues to work closely with the National Sleep Foundation and the Sleep Apnea Society of Alberta.
